Starting Term 4!!

 Hi, in this first blog post I am going to tell you about what is going on for the last term of the year. This is my last year of primary school so the last term should be fun.

We have busy term coming up we have speeches, Y6 camp, surfing and athletics day and our year 6 intermediate visit. We have new priorities too. Word work is now getting a bunch of words and figuring out there meaning and then writing a sentence with the word in it. Also there is no more math whizz, so now we have gone back to maths ninja. The craft fair is in week 5, so I am hoping to get something there. The kapa haka festival is on week six as well

Then camp is next week witch (I hope) will be cool. Year six surfing started up again on fridays, A good chance to get out of class. The speeches are coming up on week three. I hope I have a decent speech that I am writing. Athletics day is in week three as well. It was the Y6 last practise yesterday because of camp. We had the monarch show yesterday as well. 

So I am pretty sure I have covered everything that is happening this term. WOW it's really busy. Bring on term 4.

PBL Finished Product

 Hi, I am going to show you our PBL finished bird feeders.

A couple of days ago RAM started making the bird feeders to hang around the school. I brought in some peanut butter and dipped northic pine thongs in the peanut butter and then dip that in bird seed and hang that up in trees.

The next day we got a pinecone and did the same thing with the pinecone and put that up in the tree. Next term we plan to finish all the stuff that we have like hang up all the thongs.

Aurora Prizegiving

Kia Ora, in this time I will tell you about the aurora leadership prizegiving. 

Yesterday (Thursday) the aurora group had their last workshop. We gave away our gift boxes to Supergrans, they were filled with toys, games and bits and bobs for kids. After that parents, teachers and principals came in to listen to our leader speech.

I spoke about our first steps to leadership that will grow. then I said a little about our gift boxes. the whole speech was on what we have been doing and things we have created, it finished of with what aurora is and what it does. 

Lastly was my favorite part, the prizegiving. Everyone got a completion certificate that showed that we had passed the aurora leadership course. We could use these as we move on to high school and university. Then they gave out the manaakitanga awards (I got one of those)  that showed we had great care and kindness. Then they gave out the trophies witch I didn't get, although I have high hopes for next time.

Project Based Learning

I was chosen for the PBL group (Project Based Learning) on Thursday. I was chosen because I am a Self Directed learner and I can manage my time and get things done to a high standard. In PBL we have to work on a project for the rest of the term that helps our school community, and eventually build it. 

I am in a group with Mako and Anroux, our group name is RAM and we are building bird feeders and birdhouses. We are doing this because we have seen some hungry birds who want some food and somewhere to perch for the night. We have come up with a plan to build multiple birdhouses and feeders and place them around the school.  

Writing Workshop

 Hi there, on this blog post i will tell you about my writing workshop.

A couple of days a ago I went to a writing workshop and I published my character description . I was doing a character description of the big bad wolf. I did two paragraphs and managed to write a decent description of the big bad wolf. I brainstormed then but my ideas in a draft and the picture is my finished product

Word Work

Hi there, on this blog post I am telling you about our word work.

The word work is a worksheet of different words every week and we have to unscramble, write, write sentences and make words out of one.  You fill in the words on the lines and you unscramble words. You get a selection of words and you try to fill in sentences.
