How to Write a QUALITY Blog Comment

Hi, I am back with a another blog post. This time about how to write a 8 step quality blog comment for anyone to do.

  1. Start with something like hello or kia ora
  2.  Tell them something you like about their blog
  3. Then tell them if their blog post reminds you of something
  4. Add a bit more info about above steps
  5. Ask a question about their work, or you can choose to answer one if they asked.
  6. Does your comment make sense? Check it
  7. Now you have to check for punctuation and spelling
  8. PUBLISH!

Daily Check-in

Hi there, this time I will tell you about the slight change to term 3's check-in.

With the check-in when you have started a activity you have to mark it as 'Started' and it will go green. Then after a day and you haven't completed it then click 'Working on' then once you finished the activity you click 'Completed'. Then you have to pick your color that you think your work is (purple is an example for others, a amazing piece. Pink is a piece of work completed with extra detail. Light pink is exactly as a pink but the teachers had to make suggestions about extra detail. Yellow means you have just done enough.)

There is also a place to mark your evidence of Reading, Maths and Writing.

Huia Workshop

Hello, in this blog I am going to tell you about the Huia workshop I am in and the presentation I did on Colin Albert Murdoch. Huia is a reading workshop were we met only once a week for our work we have to complete before the end of the week. Last week we were finding out the difference between invention and innovation. Innovation is an upgrade of an original invention. Invention is an original idea no one has come up with before.

Firstly I went to the workshop and had to pick a inventor from a news article I had read. I chose Colin Murdoch whose most famous invention was the Disposable Syringe. He also made the child-proof bottle cap, tranquilizing-dart gun and the Silent Burglar Alarm. He was also a pharmacist and a vet. If you want to learn more on Colin Murdoch just check my presentation on him were I have lots of different facts on the Disposable Syringe

Just Dance

Hello, I am going to tell you about the time my class did Just Dance in the
hall. Just Dance is an app where you copy the dance moves of the screen.

Right before Morning Tea me and Mako were told to go set up the
projector and the speaker for Just Dance. We went to Morning tea and
played. Then we went to the hall and got into our group four. My group
was (in order) me, Mako, Rasmus and Angus.

Our first song was Waka Waka. My favourite part was when we did the
human bike. I am the front wheel and the handlebars. Then we finished
the song with us catching Angus and ACCIDENTALLY dropping him. We
started our second song called Rasputin, which (I think) is our class
favourite Just Dance. It is a really fast song and a little bit hard. After
that we moved on to a song with two people called Timber. At the end I
had to give the person beside me a piggyback.

At the end we did Kung-fu Fighting which was with two people. Just saying
I am on the left for all of the dances. We packed up the projector and
went back. When we got to class we moved into steps.

Aurora Ledership

Hello, I am going to tell you the time I was chosen for the Aurora Leadership course.

One Thursday morning me and Oliver were told to come with the teacher and bring our chromebooks.  We were told that we were picked to do a Aurora Leadership course. So we got onto a google meet. We opened up a slide we were sheared with and started working on it.

Firstly we had to introduce ourselves. Secondly we had to customize a google slide which was our Aurora Leadership journal. Then they made us sign up for this app called burn bright and do two ‘modules’. They were called Leadership and Teamwork.

After that we had to go off and do some other work. I was glad I was picked for the Aurora course.

First Week Back

I am going to tell you about our first day back after lockdown. We got the

announcement that we would be coming back to school and I got a little bit

excited. So on the first day back I packed my bag and headed off to school. It

didn't look different but parents weren't allowed in.

I went to class after the bell rang and went inside. The teacher told us that we

would be doing the same thing as lockdown. We got onto our work and opened

up the grid and looked at the activities on it. They were about our world and my

earth. I started right away and was going good. I started with the scavenger hunt

and the rest of my class did too. We had to go around the room looking for

answers to the questions on our sheet of paper.

There was also just Dance later in the day.  Just  Dance is an app where they play

songs and you have to follow along with the moves on the screen. After that

was Steps which is a website that helps with your spelling and writing. Along

with that is e-ako is a New Zealand place where you can learn all types of math.

We finished the day with a game then we went home.

Over all it actually was a fun first day back at school

Swimming Sports

Yesterday we went to swimming sports. I competed in all of the swimming strokes. The first one was freestyle BEEP the buzzer went and I kicked for the other side. I ended up coming last, but I didn't care because next was backstroke.

I went back to the grandstand. I sat there for a bit then went to backstroke. this was my best stroke which was a bit nervous for me. GET SET... BEEEEEEEEP. I heard the buzzer beep and set of for the other side. The water was splashing in my face, but I kept going and made to the end in third. It was the first two in which was disappointing I still did my best though.

After that there was breaststroke. I am actually good at the stroke it is just that I didn't know that before the race. I got up to the starting block and got ready. GET SET... BEEP!! I dived of the block and started swimming I kept going. My goggles started to slip near the end but I touched the wall and came out in fourth place. After that race I think I am starting to get better at breaststroke witch is good for my swimming.

That is swimming sports for 2020 and my last one at Wainui Beach School.
